Join our school choir for the Formby lights switch on tomorrow evening- It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas!

Year 2

Date: 5th Feb 2021 @ 4:42pm

Another busy week seems to have flown past and half term is quickly approaching!

It's great seeing and hearing the children everyday in the Google classrooms! It is amazing how well they have grasped the technical aspects of the platform. We hope that they have had an enjoyable week. I know that myself and other members of the Y2 team have enjoyed hearing their recounts of the Gingerbread Man and seeing photos of their work. We've even seen some homemade gingerbread men already! We are all looking forward to seeing their designs and gingerbread men next week. Every year we are impressed with the children's ideas and creativity. My personal favourite from a past year was a gingerbread version of Mo Salah!

Can I also take this opportunity to remind you of some of the great websites that are available to the children, particularly Easimaths and Educationcity. Next week we have set some more assessments on Educationcity. Please let your child work through the questions independently, as the assessment will then generate some games and activities for your child to revise and consolidate their knowledge in that area.

We recommend that Easimaths is accessed 3 or 4 times a week. If the questions are too easy or hard please email us at [email protected] so we can adjust their settings.

Finally, we hope that you all have a safe and happy weekend!

Take care

The Year 2 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
