Depsite this week only being a shorter week, we have had a busy and very enjoyable week in Y3.
In maths we have been learning about money. Focusing on: counting, adding and subtracting money in pounds and pence.
In outdoor games this week we have begun our OAA (Outdoor and Adventurous) unit. We are focussing on map reading and orienteering. The key to this unit is effective communication, good listening, team work and problem solving. The children really enjoyed their first session even if it did challenge them in ways they perhaps weren’t expecting.
In Latin we have started unit 2, which is look at verbs. The children have loved their Latin lessons so far! If you get a chance at home, ask your child some Latin words! I am sure you will be impressed.
On Wednesday we had a nice music treat! Y3 enjoyed a singing and keyboard lesson as part of a whole school wellbeing session. The children enjoyed this opporunity, a break away from their studies to sing and enjoy themseleves. We all had a good time singing 'You've Got a Friend in Me' a classic from Toy Story.
Home Learning - We have glued in the new home learning grid, UK Today, into your child's home learning book (if handed in). Otherwise, a paper copy has been put into their book bags to glue in at home. Please rememebr to complete home learning activities and return home learning book on a Wednesday. There are also two pieces of maths homework set on Doodle.
Thank you for your coninued support.
Enjoy your weekend,
