Year 3 Blog 09.02.24

Date: 9th Feb 2024 @ 1:14pm

Another half term is here! Can you believe we are half-way through Year 3!? This year is flying by! The children have worked hard all term, achieving a lot of success! We are all ready for a rest… including the staff!

This week, we celebrated Safer Internet Day. We watched a live video from the BBC, across with other school in the UK. We discussed the importance of staying safe online and what to do if somebody says something unkind on the internet. We briefly discussed the term ‘cyber bullying.’ The children gave some very sensible responses to tackle unkind behaviour online.

Year 3 also enjoyed Rock Kidz on Tuesday morning, with some fantastic dancing! This was part of a well-being push in school, the children really enjoyed the visit from Rock Kidz.

For our Art topic, Year 3 children designed their own animal puppet’s! The children have also made backgrounds to add more detail to their amazing art work! Take a look at the photos to see some of their puppets!

There is no set homework over half-term, however, a little go on Doodle Maths, English, Spelling or Times tables wouldn’t hurt! Additionally, have a read of a good book, read to somebody at home and enjoy!

Wishing you all a wonderful half-term break! See you on Monday 19th February for our Spring 2 term!

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
