Year 3 blog 09.06.2023

Date: 9th Jun 2023 @ 8:21pm

We've already packed so much into this half term and we've only been back 3 days!

Today we had a fabulous trip to Eureka to explore lots of different science themes - especially those linked to our new focus on light.  The children are very excited about their investigations into light and shadows next week so don't forget your torch!  Have a look at the pictures from our trip below - they perfectly portray the excitement and enquiry we saw in all of the children.

In maths we've been exploring data, making tally charts, pictograms and bar graphs.  Don't be surprised if you're asked to participate in a survey over the weekend, it's all for a good cause.

In English we've started our study of light, reading and answering questions like scientists, planning our investigations and making predictions.

Unfortunately our cricket coach was unwell this week so we played whole-class games of scatterball instead - a very fast and very fun version of rounders!  It was great to get out in the sun and have some learning fun.

Have a wonderful weekend, and please remember your suncream,

The Year 3 team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
