Year 3 Blog 14.06.24

Date: 14th Jun 2024 @ 3:11pm

Another busy and productive week in Year 3!

This week we have begun our Unit 2 in Latin! Year 3 have been amazing in lessons! This week we have been learning about the Latin verb codes with the sing along chant from 'We Will Rock You'. Y3 loved chanting the song! The lyrics are as follows: O, S, T, MUS, TIS, NT, I, YOU, HE, WE, Y'ALL, THEY. We know that 'amare' means 'to love', so 'amamus' translates to 'we love.'

In maths we have continued our learning on money, in particular, addding and subtracting amounts of money with renaming.

In PE, we have all enjoyed orineteeting lessons! Depsite the rain, we came indoors and put our map reading skills to the ultimate test! Take a look at the photos!

3R enjoyed their last swimming lesson of this academic year this week. 3H will begin their swimming lessons on Wednesday 19th June. 3R will begin their cricket lessons for their outdoor PE for the remainder of this half term.

3H enjoyed their Golden Ticket Reward on Thursdsy, despite the wet weather! We had a good game of 'infection tag' before coming inside to an enjoy an afternoon of Arts crafts! Take a look at some of the photos of our exciting afternoon!

Home Learning - we have recieved lots of amazing flags of our local areas, thank you very much for these! They look amazing! Doodle maths homework is set for Friday with more questions on money. Also, have a practice of the 3,4,8 times tables on Doodle.

Enjoy your weekend! See you all on Monday!

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
