Year 3 Blog 15.09.23

Date: 14th Sep 2023 @ 4:07pm

The children have had another brilliant and busy week in school, continuing their excellent start to life in the juniors!

The children have enjoyed gymnastics in our indoor P.E. They have been working in pairs to perform a sequence of symmetrical balances. Basketball is our outdoor P.E. focus this half term, the Y3 children have been practicing the correct technique of passing and bouncing the basketball whist playing fun team games!

In music this week, we have been looking at Ragtime and jazz.  The children loved clapping along to the rhythm of ‘The Jungle Books’ bear necessities.

Y3 is full of super scientists! Our topic is all about plants, but this week the children were learning specifically about germination. The children completed super independent work to demonstrate their understanding of germination.

In Maths this week, the children have continued place value, we have been comparing and ordering 3-digit numbers using place value charts and base 10.

We had a treat in worship this week from special visitors from the Liverpool Cathedral choir. The Y3 children loved singing along to the songs!!

Talking about visitors in school this week… we would like to say a BIG thank you to Mr Krol for his visit about Invictus Games – the children really enjoyed your inspirational visit – thank you!!

Upcoming visit - Next Friday, 22nd September, there will be an author coming into school to talk to the children in assembly. There will be books available to purcahse on this day if the children wish to do so.

We hope that the children have enjoyed their second week in Y3, but if anyone has any concerns then please contact us via [email protected] with anything you think we would benefit from knowing.

Have a relaxing weekend and we’ll see the children on Monday when we will continue our focus on the Harvest Festival.

The Year Three Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
