Year 3 Blog - 15.10.21

Date: 15th Oct 2021 @ 3:40pm

15.10.21

We can’t believe that we only have one more week until half term. It has flown since we returned in September and we have learnt so much.

This week we have learnt how to produce a continuous line drawing in Art and found that it’s not as easy as it sounds! Where to place the eyes, add stripes, numbers etc all without removing the pen from the page. We had lots of fun and the finished pieces gave us lots to discuss.

Within Science we have patiently waited for the sun to make an appearance in order for us to investigate how shadows change throughout the day. Fortunately the sun shone brightly all day and we were able to track the path of the sun since 8:35 this morning. We also learnt how to keep our eyes safe from the sun bringing our light topic to a close.

This week we have had lots of children saying that they are cold at break and lunch time. The weather is really starting to change now so a coat is an essential item for school. Better to be too warm and leave it in a locker than freezing with no alternative.

Wishing you all a pleasant weekend,

The Year 3 team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
