Year 3 Blog 21.06.24

Date: 21st Jun 2024 @ 2:23pm

Another super and busy week in Year 3!

In maths we have come to the end of our learning on money. We have been really impressed with the children's understanding of this area. Next week we will be learning about time. Time can sometimes be tricky! If you get a chance over the weekend, practice telling the time with your child, ask them what time it is, including days of the week and months of the year.

In PE this week, we have continued our map reading skills in Orienteering. The children have enjoyed the challenge of finding clues to locate their answers. Take a look at some of the photos below.

In art this week, Y3 have enjoyed painting their chosen theme, such as the beach, on their blank canvas. Next week the children will stich onto their canvas to add further detail! Take a look at some of the photos.

We will soon be learning about light in science, which will be our final topic of Y3. If you get a chance over the weekend, quiz your child what they already know about light.

Dates for the diary - Transition Day is next Friday, 28th June. That time of the year already! Year 3 will spend the morning in Year 4 meeting their new teachers!

Big Sing at Liverpool Cathedral - Monday 1st July. All are welcome to watch, a letter will be sent out next week with final details.

Wishing you all a great weekend!

Many thanks for your continued support. See you all on Monday.

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
