Year 3 Blog 22.09.23

Date: 20th Sep 2023 @ 1:58pm

Our Harvest Festival preparation has begun in earnest this week. All the children had a chance to read through the script and were then given the choice of a selection of lines. Some children will also be dressing up to add an element of excitement to our presentation. We would love for families to join us in church at their allocated services.

**Wednesday 27th September 2023     3R 09:30 am    3H 10:30 am**

Please encourage your child to practise their part using a clear and strong voice. Ideally, we would love the children to be able to deliver their lines without a piece of paper but of course we all get a little nervous when the big moment arrives. Therefore, the comfort of double checking their lines is perfectly okay too.

This week in Basketball the children have been mastering the correct technique of travelling and passing the ball. The children have also learned how to perform the ‘triple treat position’ Please take a look at some of the photos. The children really enjoyed playing against each other in team games… it was so nice to see their competitive sides coming out!

We have also been learning about living in a democratic society. If your child would like to be part of our school council they will need to prepare a short speech as to why they would be a good candidate for the role of school councillor. We ask the children to prepare and practice their speeches over the weekend ready for voting next week.

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening. It was lovely to meet you all. Please remember that if there is ever anything you would like to speak to us about the best way to contact us is always through our [email protected] email address.

Have a wonderful weekend

The Year Three Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
