Year 3 Blog - 23.6.23

Date: 23rd Jun 2023 @ 1:57pm

What a week it's been! On Monday we thoroughly enjoyed singing with Cath as part of Arts week. Sticking with the 'Matilda' theme from ast week, we learnt 'A little bit naughty.' Some of us even took on solo parts - Amazing! Arts week continued with a fabulous Art session with Jenny. The children created beautiful collages, layering paper and combining pictures, and the finished result was super. We then enjoyed the most wonderful concert from all of the children who play an instrument in school. As if that hasn't been enough fun for one week we also participated in the Soccer Challenge at the end of the week. The children were so supportive of each other and it was a joy to watch.

Within English we have continued to look at our story of 'The King who banned the dark.' The children have planned and written a letter to the King in the story trying to persuade him to bring back the dark. As we're sure you aready know, they were extremey persuasive! Maths has been all about angles this week and our homework is based on this. Wow - all of the children deserve a well earned rest this weekend!

Enjoy your weekend and we'll see you on Monday.

The Year 3 Team x

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
