Year 3 Blog 24.05.24

Date: 24th May 2024 @ 1:16pm

This half-term has seemed to fly by and this week has been no exception! We’ve made the most of the good weather by getting outside to do some orienteering tasks, reading maps and solving clues to show our learning about Roman Britain.

Year 3 have been rehearsing with Mr Gordon ready for our Summer concert perfromance at Liverpool Cathedral in July... details to follow soon!

3H - Golden Ticket Reward! 3H will have their Golden Ticket Reward on Wednesday 12th June! Details to follow soon!

3R are enjoying their swimming lessons on a Wednesday, 3H are very much looking forward to starting their swimming lessons soon... details to follow soon! 3H have enjoyed cricket lessons this half term, whilst 3R were swimming. Next half term, both classes will enjoy taking part in Orienteering sessions outside!

PE - our pe days remain to be on a Wednesday and a Friday. Please can you send your child into school wearing their PE kit on the first day back, on Wednesday 5th June.

Next half term we will learn about money in time in our maths lessons. Time can be quite a challenge and it’s always useful to have a head start by looking at watches and clocks at home and knowing that analogue clocks count time in 5-minute increments.  We’re allowed to wear watches in school to help us practise telling the time across the day, reinforcing out learning.  It’s incredible how quickly we learn what 12:20 looks like on the clock – lunch time!

There is no set homework over the half term, the children are in need of a much needed rest. However, if you would like to log-in to Doodle to earn some more stars, that would be brilliant!

Have a lovely half term everyone, enjoy the well deserved rest.

See you all soon, ready for the final half term of Year 3!

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
