Year 3 Blog 28.06.24

Date: 28th Jun 2024 @ 2:00pm

We have had another busy week in Year 3!

In maths this week we are continuing to learn about time, specifically, 5 minute intervals, as well as recapping quarter past, quarter to and half past the hour. The children have demonstrated a good understanding so far, we are delighted! If you get some time over the weekend, have a practice at learning the time with your child.

In English Year 3 have enjoyed discovering more pages of 'The Legend of Black Rock.' The children have continued the story, writing what they think will happen to Erin next. We have been delighted with some of the writing! The children have included Year 3 writing objectives, including the use of: prepositions, similes, adjectives, conjunctions, adverbs, alliterations.

In Latin this week we have been learning about Latin verb endings. The children enjoyed completing their crossword in lesson on Friday, recapping our knowledge previsouly learned in Unit 1.

Transition Day was an exciting morning meeting our new teachers. Can you believe that Y4 is only around the corner!

Monday 1st July is our visit to the Liveprool Cathedral for the Big Sing. Remember to bring a packed lunch and in school uniform.

Enjoy your weekend and see you all on Monday!

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
