Year 3 Blog - 6.1.23

Date: 6th Jan 2023 @ 1:07pm

Hello and a Happy New Year to you all!

This week we have had a super time introducing our new topic for the half term - Healthy Humans! This theme flows through the majority of our lessons and we will be looking at ways to keep both our minds, and bodies, healthy. With two PE lessons a week, plus a mindfulness session, we are hoping to show the children the importance of keeping healthy in various ways. Our home learning grid also includes a 'Wellbeing' row instead of a 'Reserch' row this half term.

Within Science we will be looking at the functions of the skeleton and how to eat for health. What makes a healthy plate? Why do we need a variety of foods? One of our home learning activities is to make a healthy soup - yum! This ties in nicely with our work in school.

This week additional maths homework has been sent as a paper copy as opposed to an electronic version under the home learning tab. We are continuing with multiplication and the homework reinforces what we have been doing in school this week.

We hope you have a wonderful weekend,

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
