8.1.21

Who would have thought our Spring term would have stopped before it even started? After what has been an extremely challenging week for all we are hopeful that next week will run more smoothly. 😊

Earlier today you will have recieved a letter from Mrs Cowey explaining how to use Google Classroom with your child in preparation for Monday. This letter reiterates the spider message sent to you earlier this week from the Year 3 team. Thank you to the parents who allowed us to use them as guinea pigs and interact with the children today. Next week will certainly not be without its hiccups we're sure but we're 'all in this together' for at least the next 5 weeks. We will be a well oiled machine by half term!

The planner and all resources for next week can be found in the 'Year 3' page of Google Classroom. Each day is clearly indicated with all the resources needed for that particular day and can be accessed as and when you need them. However, when logging on for the 'live' sessions you must access that through your child's class page eg 3IR children use that page to see Miss Irvin and Mrs Roberts and 3WM children use the 3WM page in order to see Miss Murdock. Can we please remind you all to join the meeting with cameras and microphones switched off.

Our class text next week we will be  'The Spider and the Fly' poem. This is a high quality text, rich in varied vocabulary, and should inspire lots of great ideas. We are aware that this text may also provide a challenge for some of the children, particularly those who are usually supported within reading by an adult in school. Therefore, you may need to support your child within some elements of the guided reading sessions, reading alongside them.

Anyone needing to contact any member of the Year 3 team there is now a temporary, direct email to us rather than via school admin. We will endeavour to reply to emails within 2 days. This email address is:

Please try to familiarise yourself with google classroom ready for Moday. We look forward to seeing you all at 9:30am. Don't forget to bring your morning motivator book, a pencil and a ruler. ✏

Have a super weekend,

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
