8.10.21

Firstly, can we please say a great big thankyou to the children and parents who have joined us on Google Classroom this week. We really do appreciate that it can be challenging supervising your children at home whilst still continuing to work and run a household. For future reference, all children have now been added to both Year Three classrooms so they can move seamlessly between their RWI /English, Maths, Spelling and foundation subjects. Transition between classrooms can be quite busy and noisy so don’t be offended to be suddenly put on mute.

In English we have all had a chance to study the rather revolting Mr Twit and his quite hideous beard. The children have been using prepositions and a range of adjectives to describe all the beastly morsels that may be hidden underneath his frightful nostrils. Maybe you could ask your child to use a variety of prepositions to describe the position of items in your car, living room or on you route home from school? In Maths we are continuing to work on our column addition method, renaming in the ten and hundred columns.

We think art has probably been the highlight of the week. The children loved getting to open their very own set of brand-new watercolour paints. We spent time experimenting with wet paint on wet paper, wet on dry and a mixture of the two. The children were fascinated to see how the paint acts very differently to poster paint.

Have a happy and healthy weekend. Stay safe!

The Year Three Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
