Year 3 Weekly Blog (11. 9. 20)

Date: 11th Sep 2020 @ 9:45am

What a week it's been! The children have been amazing as we began our first mini topic 'Here We Are'. They have looked at various, awe-inspiring elements of our planet and even wrote our own words to the song 'What a wonderful world' by Louis Armstrong.

Within Maths we have begun our Maths No Problem lessons, focussing on place value. We have introduced hundreds and the children are working hard. We have used Brainingcamp Base Ten Blocks online (just google 'Brainingcamp') and see if your child can make a given number with the base ten resources. This will really help to develop their understanding of place value.

Well done this week on remembering PE kits. Everyone was dressed correctly and ready to complete circuit training. By half term we will all be planking for hours!

Finally a big 'Well Done' to Ellie, Jacob and Layan, this weeks Year 3 Superstars.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
