Year 3 Weekly Blog (12. 3. 21)

Date: 10th Mar 2021 @ 11:03am

12.3.21

We have had the best week and it has been so lovely to have our whole Year 3 family back together again. We have really enjoyed settling back into school life and have enjoyed a range of different activities. The children have loved exploring their new Playtime Play Boxes and using all of the lovely equipment with their friends. We have also enjoyed five mindfulness sessions were we have talked about being still and being present in the moment. We have also discussed and practised the use of breath counting and 'chest belly' breathing as a strategy to calm ourselves and find stillness. We have discussed the difference between being mindful and mindless and all enjoyed a 'meaningful mouthful' this morning(it involved eating a minstrel which was enjoyed by all!)

Starting today, the children can help to raise money for Comic Relief by playing along onTTRockstars. They can also accumulate coins and points to buy red noses for their avatar and put towards our class totals. The class with the most points next week will win a prize and the child with the most points will also win a prize. As homework this week we would like each child to play along on TTRockstars over the weekend. The children can only play for points between 9:30 and 3:00 so therefore will be unable to use TTRockstars at home at any other time.

We look forward to speaking to lots of you on Wednesday for Parent's Evening and look forward to hearing all about your home schooling experience!

Have a wonderful weekend and we'll see you all next week.

The Year 3 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
