Year 3 Weekly Blog (16. 7. 21)

Date: 15th Jul 2021 @ 11:54am

16.7.21 Last blog of the year

What an amazing week we've had - we really couldn't have asked for a better way to end our year! The children have worked so hard on their Roman chariots in DT and we were amazed to see each individual personality reflected in the form of a vehicle. They were a roaring success and we look forward to making them again next year.

Yesterday we took part in our Year 3 Sports Day. A little bit different to our usual style but still full of cheering, support, determination and smiles all round. The children all tried their personal best and it was a joy to see them competing and having fun.

Today we had our Golden Ticket Reward. A trip to church to use the fire to make s'mores and time playing and exploring in our beautiful Pinewoods all topped off with a picnic lunch and a water fight. The children had the best day, as did the staff, and it really was a perfect end to our year.

Massive congratulations today to our Year 3 boys who won the mile race out of all of the schools participating and an even bigger congratulations to Jasper who was the fastest boy out of all those competing in his age group. He was extremely excited with his gold medal!!!

On Monday could your child please bring a labelled plastic bag to school. They will use this to bring home all of their bits and pieces on Tuesday.

And, just like that, it is time to say goodbye. Can we take this opportunity to tell you all how much we have loved teaching your children this year. They have been a joy and we really are going to miss them. We wish you all a happy, sunny Summer holidays and we'll see you all in September.

Take care and stay safe,

Lots of love

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
