Year 3 Weekly Blog (18. 12. 20)

And we made it! We cannot believe a whole term has passed and what a term it has been. We have had a really wonderful end to the term this week with our Christmas party, Christmas jumper day, Breakfast with Santa and our favourite……the premier of the Year 2 Nativity. We loved watching it and the children all loved discussing the role they played last year and their favourite memories. We also enjoyed a Christmas story with Santa on Thursday and the Church service led by Year 6 today. Although the strangest term we have ever had in school it has not stopped the children enjoying and celebrating all things Christmas. The children have also enjoyed bringing in their festive pictures, one for each day of the month, creating our own version of an Advent Calendar. Take a look at the pictures of them below.

There is also a photograph below of a letter from the Southport Soup Kitchen thanking us for the kind and generous donations made as part of our 'reverse' advent calendar. As you can see it really has made a huge difference to our local families. Once again a HUGE thank you!

When the children return in January could we please ask that they have restocked stationary supplies. Pencils, pens and glue sticks have all run dry, as have many sanitiser bottles.

Thank you all so much for your support this term and for all the kind wishes, cards and gifts sent into school. We would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy, healthy New Year! Stay safe and enjoy the holidays.

Best wishes

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
