Year 3 Weekly Blog (19. 3. 21)

Date: 17th Mar 2021 @ 11:42am

19.3.21

It was lovely to catch up with so many of you at Parent’s Evening this week and we are looking forward to speaking to the rest of you on Thursday. As we discussed with lots of you the children have settled back into school life wonderfully well and have had another great week. The Playground Boxes continue to be a success and have enabled the children to socialise freely during outdoor break. It really is a joy to have them all back in together, playing and enjoying themselves.

Today has seen us celebrate Comic Relief, albeit not in our usual St Luke’s style, but we have still managed to raise money for an excellent cause. We all voted on the funniest joke in each class in school and those children then shared their joke with the whole school during Celebration Worship. In 3IR Lewis received the most votes and in 3WM it was Catrin.

“Why can’t you give Elsa a balloon?”

“Because she’ll Let it Go!”

A little reminder for next Friday – the children can wear a hat to school in exchange for a small donation. This is to raise money for Brain Tumour Research and is a charity that is close to all of our hearts here at St. Luke’s. The teachers will all be donning their best shower caps in support.

Have a super weekend and we’ll see you bright and early on Monday,

***Well done to our Year 3 Superstars this week – Olivia, Alex and Lewis***

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
