A Fantastic Start to Year Three!

We're so excited to welcome all of our students and families to Year Three - we can't wait to get started on another fantastic year of learning, fun and new adventures!

The children arrived on Tuesday ready to go, bursting with energy and big smiles. It was brilliant to see everyone reunited after the summer break, as we explored our new classrooms together. We understand that getting back into the school routine can sometimes be a challenge after a long break. We're here to support everyone as we settle into our new rhythm, which the children have already been fabulous at doing!

On Tuesday, we began by talking about what will make our new classroom a positive and happy place to learn. The children all brainstormed their ideas in small groups, and were very brave to share their thoughts and ideas with the whole class. How grown up are we! It was wonderful to hear their thoughtful suggestions. We all agreed that everyone's ideas were valuable, and we collated the most important rules into our final list.

We also spent time discussing what our new Year Three class value of 'Thankfulness' really means, and why it's important. The children set out to draw what they were thankful for - whether it's friends, family, food or their beloved pets. We have created a 'Thankfulness' wall where all of our cherished drawings will be beautifully displayed in our classroom.

The children are thrilled to have their own supplies in their pencil cases. A polite reminder to please ensure all new uniforms have your child's name written clearly on the label.

We have also begun to explore our Harvest topic this week, as we prepare to deliver our Year Three Harvest Service in Church on Monday 7th October. We invite parents/carers of Year Three children to join us in Church, if you are able. 3R will lead the first service at 9:15am. 3WP will lead the second service at 10:00am.

Our outdoor fruit and vegetable garden has been the perfect setting for some hands-on learning as we discover more about what happens during the Christian celebration of Harvest. We can't wait to share what we've learned with you!

Thank you for your continued support as we begin our Year Three journey. The children have all tried their very best this week and deserve a big rest this weekend, ready to go again on Monday!

Have a fantastic weekend, everybody.

The Year Three Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
