Year 4 Blog 15.11.24

Date: 15th Nov 2024 @ 1:45pm

We’ve had another busy week in Year 4.

In Maths, the children have been working with their 6,7and 9 times tables. They are working hard on their understanding and instant recall of each table. The children have been reminded to use their Doodle Learning tables, to help with the tables they are finding challenging.

In English, the children have been looking at the characters from the story The Boy, the Horse, the Fox and been developing some ‘fantastic’ vocabulary in their writing ‘build up’ lessons.

In History, the children have continued looking at Britain, following the Romans leaving and the Anglo-Saxons invading and settling.

In RE the children have been discussing how Jesus brings light into the world. They have been enthusiastically sharing their thoughts and ideas.

Thanks to Year 6, we took part in an emotive Remembrance service, which helped remember those who lost their lives for us.

We also celebrated Anti bullying day by wearing odd socks and thinking about how we can show Respect to each other.

Then to top off an already exciting week, the children celebrated Children in Need by dressing in yellow and spots on Friday!

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Charlie and Benita 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
