Year 4 Blog 20.1.23
Date: 20th Jan 2023 @ 9:00am
We’ve had a busy week in year 4.
In maths, we have been multiplying 2- and 3-digit numbers, with and without renaming, using a variety of methods. With practice, the children are becoming more confident to choose a preferred method, in order to accurately calculate.
In English, the children have listened to actual text of The Great Kapok Tree and they have been ‘boxing up’ the story, onto a planning sheet. They will use these boxed plans as a basis for their own adapted story, with ideas of their own.
In Art, the children have continued to look at pattern. They looked at the artist Shaheen Ahmed, and produced a piece of art, inspired by her work.
In science, the children have continued looking at living things. They used hoops to create a venn diagram and with their partner, decided the criteria their living things could be sorted by.
We’ve also continued to improve our rugby skills!
A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Millie and Oliver O 4H.
Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.
