Year 4 Blog 20.9.23

Date: 20th Sep 2024 @ 2:11pm

Thankfully, we’ve had a warm, sunny week!

In Maths, the children have been making number patterns, looking closely at the value of each digit within 3- and 4-digit numbers.

In English, we have continued looking at ‘The River’ poem and the children have been generating super language to write their own verses.

In science the children have been identifying the properties of solids, liquids and gases.

In PE they have continued to develop their passing, dribbling and defending skills in basketball.

The children were very excited to listen to the speeches, from those who wanted to be voted onto the school council. They all did an amazing job and spoke very clearly about why they should be voted into the role.

Our new school council representatives are: 4C Fern and Charlie

                                                                       4M Nancy, Josie and Eleanor

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Clarice and Elsie 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
