Year 4 Blog 21.3.25

We’ve enjoyed a great week of sunshine in Year 4.

In Maths, the children have been looking at improper fractions. They are definitely improving their understanding of changing fractions to mixed numbers and then writing them in their simplest form. Their times table knowledge definitely helps!

In science, the children have explored making simple electric circuits and made predictions as to whether a circuit was complete or incomplete.

In DT the children are constructing a wooden frame for a train, they will use their circuit knowledge to hopefully make it into a moving train.

On Friday, the children looked very bright in their red, to support Red Nose Day! They also had the added excitement of meeting their buddies to share a story and have a play!

Well done to our Weekly Superstars: -

4C: Theo and Heidi 4M.

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
