Year 4 Blog 22.11.24

Date: 22nd Nov 2024 @ 12:33pm

We’ve definitely had a chilly week. Even though the snow didn’t last long, the children were very excited to see it, while it lasted!

In Art, the children have used sketching to explore a variety of mark making techniques. They used their artist eyes to carefully look at the fine detail of the objects they observed, and transferred their observations to their sketches.

In Maths the children have continued working with multiplication. Last week they have enthusiastically took part in the Maths No Problem ‘England Rocks’ daily challenge. The children are definitely getting more confident with their recall of the times table facts, due their constant overlearning of them.

In History, the children have been looking in more detail, at what happened during the period of Saxon England. The children worked together to put the order of events into a time line.

In Latin, the children had fun looking at Latin adverbs, and writing blessings and curses in Latin.

A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Charlotte and Jessica 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
