Year 4 blog 27.9.24
Date: 27th Sep 2024 @ 2:16pm
We’ve had another busy week in year 4!
In Maths, the children have been working hard to round 4-digit numbers to the nearest 10, 100 and 1000.
In English, the children have discussed being tour guides. They are getting ready to expertly explain the various parts of the water cycle, as if they were giving a guided tour.
In Geography, we have been using atlases to identify different rivers around the UK.
In Science, the children have been finding out about the water cycle, and have started an investigation to observe the effects of evaporation using wet socks. We have positioned the socks in different places around the school to see what happens to each of the socks.
In Art, the children have explored using mark making equipment: pencils, charcoal, graphite, fine line pens and biros. They had fun exploring the kinds of marks that they could make, to help improve their sketching skills.
In Basketball the children were improving their passing skills, using shoulder passes and overhead passes.
Well done to our Weekly Superstar: 4C: Mason and Xander 4M
Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.
