Year 4 blog 29.11.24

Date: 29th Nov 2024 @ 1:20pm

What a busy week we have had, the children have been working their socks off.

In English, they have been planning their own stories from the viewpoint of the Fox. They have been developing their endings, based on how they decide the story continues. By the end of the week, they were ready to write their own descriptive versions of the story.

In Maths the children have continued working with multiplication and commutativity. They have been looking at methods to multiply and divide numbers. They have been using their developing understanding of the times tables to help.

In History, the children have been looking at what life was like during the Anglo-Saxon period, by looking at primary sources. They have found out about two excavation sites in the UK that dug up lots of interesting evidence. They have been asking and answering questions based on the found treasures.

In Guided Reading, the children have read information about the Anglo Saxons, finding out about significant figures like King Offa.

In PSHE, within the topic of Health and Wellbeing, the children enjoyed a relaxing lesson based on Visualisation.

In PE during our Tag rugby lesson,  the children worked well with their partners  learning to use the pop pass with accuracy.

A ‘big’ well done to our Weekly Superstars: 4C: Oliver and Caden 4M

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
