Year 4 Blog 6.9.24

Date: 6th Sep 2024 @ 1:36pm

Welcome back to an exciting new school year! Luckily, we have had a lovely bright start. The children have enthusiastically settled into their new Year 4 classes.

They have spent some time, excitedly sharing their summer experiences with each other. It sounds like they have all thoroughly enjoyed time spent with their families.

In Maths the  children have carefully been counting in multiples of 25, 100 and 1000. They have completed number sequences using numbers to 10 000.

In Geography, the children have started to look at the features of rivers.

In Guided Reading, we have been looking at the book - A River. The children have taken time to clarify the tricky vocabulary, in order to get a better understanding of the text. They have also answered a questions, using the text to help.

The children have also enjoyed their first outdoor games lesson, helping to improve their ball control in basketball.

We have welcomed Clarice, Mason,  Benita and  Molly into Year 4 and they have all settled in nicely.

Congratulations to this week's superstars: -

4C: Fern             4M: Benita and Molly

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
