Year 4 blog 7.10.22

Date: 7th Oct 2022 @ 2:03pm

Year 4 have had another week of exciting learning!

In Maths, the children have been improving their understanding of rounding numbers to the nearest 1000, 100 and 10.

In English, we shared the ending of ‘Fox’ and the children produced story maps, in order to retell the story. They have also developed their understanding of using fronted adverbials in their writing.

In Art, the children have experimented with watercolours and will now use this skill to add colour to their art work, in their concertina books.

In Science, the children have investigated temperature. They know that a thermometer is used to measure temperature.  They also know that when heat is applied, a solid can change state, to a liquid.

The children celebrated National Poetry Day by producing amazing acrostic class poems, based on Rivers.

Well done to our Weekly Superstar: 4C: Sarah and Sienna 4H

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
