Year 4 Blog 8.11.24

Date: 8th Nov 2024 @ 1:37pm

Welcome back to the Autumn term. The children have returned relaxed and settled, following their half term break, ready for another half term of exciting learning.

In English, they have spent some time, excitedly sharing their half term experiences with each other. It sounds like they have all thoroughly enjoyed time spent with their families. They have also started their sentence stacking lessons developing their sentences for The Boy, the Mole, the Fox and the Horse.

In Maths, we have been exploring the 6 and 7 times tables, the children have been improving their instant recall with lots of chanting.

We had a great introduction into our new History topic, Anglo Saxons, with a visit from Ravner. The children are all looking forward to finding out about Life after the Romans.

In RE, the children have been thinking about Why light is such a powerful symbol?

At the end of the week the children were unrecognisable, as they excitedly dressed up as Rock Stars and had an amazing day with Rock Kidz. They definitely raised the roof, as they Rocked!!

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
