Year 4 log 13.9.24

Date: 13th Sep 2024 @ 2:12pm

The children have well and truly settled into their new year group and are working their socks off!

In maths this week, the children have been looking at place value and identifying the value of each digit in 4-digit numbers, they have also been ordering and comparing amounts.

The children have been classifying states of matter in science and have been looking at the properties of solids, liquids and gases.

In English, they have been working with a poem called A River, by Valerie Bloom. They have clarified lots of vocabulary and compared lots of descriptive language.

In PE, 4M children have been using their body parts to create movements and sequences to travel along apparatus, and 4C had a successful first swimming lesson. Both classes continued to develop their dribbling skills and control in basketball.

In Geography the children have been identifying the features of a river and are becoming more confident when using the specific vocabulary related to rivers.

Well done to our Weekly Superstar: 4C: Callie and

                                                         4M:  Mila B

Many thanks again for supporting your child’s learning.

The Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
