Year 4 Weekly Blog (4. 12. 20)

Date: 3rd Dec 2020 @ 11:08am

Well we are now on the home straight and are moving into the penultimate week of the Autumn term! Classrooms have been festively decorated and we are counting down.

We have finally completed our story of Fox and the children were relieved that there could be some light at the end of a very dark tunnel for Magpie. The author didn't say what exactly happened to Magpie and this leaves it open to interpretation. The final ending, therefore, is going to be left in the hands of the children next week as they plan and prepare to write their own ending to Fox. They are all excited with the prospect of being able to add to what they have found to be a gripping and entertaining book.

4C finally got back to the swimming pool which was a great news and they will continue with their sessions into the new year.

Congratulations to our Superstars: Matilda(4W) and Isaac (4C) and to all those who received their Bronze or Silver certificates. Taye (4C) and Megan (4W) were also presented with their Intra Year 4 Speed Bounce Certificates. Well done guys!

In Art we looked at artwork by Gustav Klimt and will be designing our own Tree of life, which will become a festive interpretation and be the theme of this year’s Yr4 Christmas card.

Have a safe and happy weekend and we look forward to being back together on Monday.

From the Year 4 Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
