Year 5 28th June

Date: 28th Jun 2024 @ 1:21pm

This week we had a special visitor come to lead workshops with us about the dangers of Carbon Monoxide and what we can do to keep our homes safe. The children learnt so much and created fantastic posters, raps, drama pieces and presentations to give the important message, "you can't see it, hear it, smell, taste it, touch it. BOOM!"

In maths we have continued our work on volume, finding the volume of various cubes and cuboids.

In english we finished our work on The Piano and have written our independent pieces. We think we will make Mrs Harper and Mr williams cry with our emotional story telling.

We have been busy creating our healthy Bolognese sauce recipes and can't wait to go to Range next week to make them and busy preparing for Sports Day on Wednesday.

Today we met our new Year 6 teachers. 5H are so pleased that they will have Mr Hardman and 5W are delighted to have Mr Green.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
