We started the week in a fabulous way, with an autumn walk with our buddies, where we helped them to learn all about autumn and the signs that show us autumn is here. We also started our mini topic on The Highwayman by Alfred Noyes, a 19th century clasic narrative poem. The poem had us gripped from the opening line. We have sketchbooked ideas of how the first 3 lines make us feel and how they appear in our imagination...
The wind was a torrent of darkness among the gusty trees,
The moon was a ghostly galleon, tossed upon stormy seas,
The road was a ribbon of moonlight, looping the purple moor.
We also created mini books of the poem, using some of the language used by Alfred.
