Year 5 Blog 4.3.22

Date: 4th Mar 2022 @ 3:13pm

This week in maths, we have been focusing on comparing fractions and decimals, including converting between the two and starting to add and subtract decimals. In guided reading this week we have been looking into the poem The Listeners and clarifying tricky words and writing them into our books. In R.E., we have been summarising our learning about the teachings of Jesus and his disciples, creating crosses showing how. On Tuesday, we went on an obstacle course and it was very enjoyable we had to jump through small holes to get to the next part, which was sliding down a slide very rapidly!  5L have been continuing swimming and doing front stroke and back stroke! We have also been doing star floats for 5 seconds!

This blog was written by Tilly and Lourdes from 5L.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
