Year 5 Weekly Blog 11.3.22

Date: 11th Mar 2022 @ 2:34pm

These past weeks 5J have been learning how to do the haka dance in indoor PE and 5L have been working on their swimming skills. Also, in outdoor PE, we have continued improving our hockey skilld, looking at the indian dribble. In maths we have been learning how to round up decimals as well as changing them into tenths and hundredths. In english we have been retelling the poem of the listeners  through our own story either creating your own ending or retelling your own but in the same context. We have been working on our actions and singing as well as making props for our play rock bottom and practising our own lines. In science, we have been looking and seeing reversible changes and irreversible changes such as ice is a reversible change but plastic isn’t a reversible change. In Latin, we have been planning and making mosaics because they had  them in Rome  and only wealthy people had them.

This week's blog was written by Henry and Ryan from 5J

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
