Year 6 Blog 10.11.23

Date: 10th Nov 2023 @ 3:40pm

Another amazing week in Year 6 has come to an end. We have continued to look at Greek Myths, with the children creating their own heroes and villains, as well as starting to write about the battle they will have. In maths we have continued to look at fractions, this week learning how to multiply proper fractions togather, which the children are now confident in doing. We have started to look at Rugby in PE, with the children practising their passing and ball-handling skills.

The highlight of the week was how the children carried out our act of rememberance on Friday. The children spoke with respect and decourum in both services and thought a lot about those who have given their lives for us in battle. We thank them for such a touching act of remembrance.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
