Year 6 Blog 22.9.23

Date: 22nd Sep 2023 @ 3:10pm

In maths this week we have been learning about dividing and multiplying 2 digit numbers. It has been quite tricky but we have found methods that suits us best. In PHSE this week we have been learning about the Hope-o-potamus poem by Greg James and Chris Smith. During one PHSE lesson, we did hotseating where two children were chosen to sit on a chair in front of the class, while the rest of the children asked questions to the child who was at the front (See pictures below). This activity was enjoyed by the children. This week in P.E we did gymnastics were the children were doing rolls and balancing. On Friday we did basketball, were they did passing, tackling and dribbling. This week we have been sketching and designing our own cereal box, the back , front and logo. The children thoroughly enjoyed expressing themselves through it.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
