Year 6 Blog 31.1.25
Date: 1st Feb 2025 @ 10:16am
This week has been very busy in Year 6. We’ve continued our learning around Charles Darwin and evolution, focusing specifically on animals’ adaptations and how his theory explains how changes come over time to make a creature or plant suit its environment.
We have done some more assessments this week, reiterating to the children the message that their best will always be good enough. The children have approached these with a positive mindset and the experience of doing these should help them to be more settled for the real things. Please continue to support school by encouraging your child to complete their home-learning, read something challenging regularly at home and doing additional revision as required – Doodle is a great resource for this.
We finished the week with a visit from a local Police Community Support Officer, who gave some very important messages about safety and wellbeing to the children.
We only have two weeks left until half term and we are going to continue with hockey and dodgeball in PE, we are going to complete our DT project on miniature playgrounds and finish our RE unit on Judaism.
