Year 6 blog for week ending 7/3/25
Date: 7th Mar 2025 @ 3:07pm
Year 6 have had another very busy and successful week, in the classroom and out. The children have continued reading our class-novel: Freedom. They are giving an analysis of it, its characters and themes a great effort. This has also started to inform some wonderful writing which we will be finishing over the next couple of weeks. In maths, the children have refined their understanding of position and movement, looking at: co-ordinates within four quadrants; translating shapes; and reflecting shapes across a range of lines of reflection.
Our Year 6 children have also done us proud outside of the classroom. The boys’ football team fought back from 3-0 down against Freshfield on Thursday night, finishing up with a narrow 3-2 loss. Our swimmers, alongside some children from Year 5, came second overall at the local swimming gala. Well done to all involved and a big thanks to Mr Hatton, Mr Hardman and Mr Williams who have helped to organise and support these events.
