Year One Blog 1.7.22

Date: 1st Jul 2022 @ 4:05pm

This week, we had great fun with the Bee-Bots. We designed a seaside world for them and created individual programs for them to follow. We also discussed our holiday questionnaires. It was fascinating to find out where people had visited and what they got up to. Destinations were both near and far, and we were delighted to learn that one family had travelled to Freshfield for a holiday there. What a wonderful spot to pick! As you know, next week, we will be venturing to the beach ourselves. Please take a look at the Spider message giving you further details about it. 7 sleeps to go! Our week ended on a high as we spent time with our buddies. The books from the Smile challenge had arrived and we had the opportunity to be the first to share them. Next week, we look forward to Sports Day, on Tuesday, and to seeing you there. Have a wonderful weekend.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
