Year One Blog 21.1.22

Date: 21st Jan 2022 @ 3:42pm

                                 Friday 21st January

This week has been full of sensational shape activities. We have learned even more about the properties of 3D shapes and rounded our week off with a hunt of our own.

We also thought about everyday materials and what our own favourite toys are made from. Time was also spent observing our own soft toys and we used a variety of mark making techniques when drawing them.

PE saw us travelling  along different pathways in a variety of ways, including pushing, pulling and sliding. Very impressive!

Next week, we look forward to thinking about, and beginning our plans, for our own sock puppets. The intention being for the children to make and enjoy them. Further information will be provided about them, next week. In the meantime, we would ask that the children bring an odd, unwanted sock, in, on Monday, to base their design around.

 Have a lovely weekend.

The Year One Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
