Year One Blog 22.4.22

What a super start to our Summer term we have had! The children have loved sharing their Easter news with us, telling us all about their different treats, surprises and family outings.
This half-term our topic is called ‘Into the Woods’. We look forward to learning more about plants, trees and conditions for growing plants from seeds. We have already planted some bean seeds. I wonder if they will grow as big as ‘Jack’s beanstalk?’
Our PE days are still on Mondays and Tuesdays. Monday is our indoor session and the children are welcome to wear their shorts, under their tracksuit bottoms for this session.
We also learnt about St. George and information about his special day tomorrow, 23rd April. The children enjoyed hearing about his legendary brave deeds with a dragon and we have a varied collection of ‘dragon stories’ to listen to at story times this term. We also learnt some interesting facts about England too!
So, from the Year One team – we wish you a ‘Happy St. George’s Day’ and have a lovely weekend.
