Year One Blog 29.4.22

Date: 29th Apr 2022 @ 4:43pm

Having planted our runner beans last week, we spent this week tending them and observing them for signs of life. Nothing to report yet but watch this space...We also took the opportunity to complete some feely drawings of twigs and observational drawings of  leaves. For the feely task, the children completed their twig drawings using only their sense of touch. Why not take a look at some examples we've included?  Time was spent looking at and discussing the similarities and differences between a variety of seeds, bulbs and plants. It has been wonderful to hear about all the planting that has been happening at home too and would love to see the results.

Have a wonderful weekend and thank you for your support.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
