Year6 Blog 22.3.24

Date: 22nd Mar 2024 @ 3:22pm

In maths this week we have been learning about averages specifically mean averages we did word problem based on averages and used our knowledge to solve them, the mean average is an estimated amount, so when we add up all of the numbers we get a total and then we divide the total by how many things we have then we have the mean average. In English this week we are continuing are topic on slavery. We are writing a poem about what life was like for a slave using a wide variety of rhyming words and different emotions. In guided reading we have been focusing on inference questions answering questions and finding evidence about characters. In PE we have been doing Handball, learning different passes and skills we have been playing small matches to boost our confidence. In art we have been making activism art, creating paper mache background and painting our own statements that we want to be heard.

This week's blog was written by Georgia and Bella in 6H

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
