Our Harvest Festival preparation has begun in earnest this week. All the children had a chance to read through the script and were then given the choice of a selection of lines. Some children will also be dressing up to add an element of excitement to our presentation. We would love for families to join us in church at their allocated services.

Tuesday 4th October 2022     3IR  9.45        3WM  10.30

Please encourage your child to practise their part using a clear and strong voice. Ideally, we would love the children to be able to deliver their lines without a piece of paper but of course we all get a little nervous when the big moment arrives. Therefore, the comfort of double checking their lines is perfectly okay too.

This week in Gymnastics the hall buzzed with excitement as the apparatus came out. The children had to work in small groups to come up with a simple routine that involved spinning and balancing on large ‘body patches’ (bottom, tummy, back, shoulders) Please take a look at some of the photos. The children were incredibly imaginative and challenged each other to think of more and more complex sequences.

We have also been learning about living in a democratic society. We have discussed the importance of the right to vote and how an election runs and today was election day for our class council representatives. We were beyond impressed with the quality of the speeches given by the children and the way they carried out the ballot.  The votes have now been counted and verified and we are pleased to announce that our class councillors are..........Sophie and Sofia (3IR) and Georgina and Erin (3WM)

Thank you to everyone who was able to make it to our ‘Meet the Teacher’ evening. It was lovely to meet you all. Please remember that if there is ever anything you would like to speak to us about the best way to contact us is always through our [email protected] email address. For those parents unable to make the meeting we have sent home a copy of the leaflet we shared on Wednesday in your child's book bag.

Have a wonderful weekend

The Year Three Team.

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
