Art and Design
At St Luke’s we want to enable all pupils to feel able to think creatively. We encourage our children to be independent learners and ask questions, offering them the opportunity to consolidate and revisit previous learning in order to reflect and improve, deepen their understanding and create life-long learners. Their achievements, attitudes and well-being matter and we offer them the opportunity to discover their individual creativity, by providing them with an art and design curriculum which provokes their curiosity and develops their skills and knowledge. We believe that art provides an excellent way to enrich their learning and develop links within other curriculum areas.
“Art is not just a subject to learn, but an activity that you can practise with your hands, your eyes, your whole personality.”
Quentin Blake, Children’s Laureate
