We have had a wonderful fun packed week in year 2!

The highlight of course being our trip to Martin Mere. We all had a great time, pond dipping, mini beast hunting, playing and exploring the different areas. We strengthened our knowledge on food chains, mini beasts and also habitats. It was a full on day from start to finish and the children behaved beautifully!

We've had lots of opportunities to handle and care for the chicks this week, which as you can imagine the children have loved! We were very sad to see them go today, but they had grown so much and were ready to spread their wings and enjoy their new home on a farm.

In Computing the children have been looking at outcomes on scratch junior, with the children creating a set of instructions for their avatar to complete, predicting the outcome of the movements.

On Wednesday we had a visitor in for a carbon monoxide workshop. The workshop was very informative, interactive and the kids really enjoyed it while learning how to keep us safe at home!

Our main focus of the week has been our 'If I were in charge of the world' poem. The children have been thinking of all the things they would change if they were to become the leader and we have now come to the end of our modelled write. The children today, started planning for their independent poem 'If I were in charge of the Universe'. We're looking forward to starting next week!

We hope you all have a lovely weekend,

The Year 2 Team

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
