Home Learning

Welcome to our Year 4 Home Learning section.

This half term's home learning grid will be uploaded to the Year 4 home learning page. The grid is a smaller version of the previous home learning grid, with a row of activites to be accessed daily and a second row of topic based creative activities, which may be completed as a poster or model etc.

Each week, the children will be given a maths assignment to be completed on Doodle Learning. These are to be completed by the following Wednesday. Miss Murdock will hold a club during Tuesday lunchtime, for anyone who has been unable to access Doodle Learning.

Any passwords that can help your child access learning platforms at home will be in their new reading record book. ( Doodle Learning, TT Rockstars )

Spelling:  Each week, 6 orange high frequency words will be assigned to Doodle spelling. These words are taken from the Year 3 and 4 high frequency words list (found in the home learning files). Please ensure that your child can read them and use them in a sentence, to fully understand their meaning. You can also access the Year 1 and Year 2 high frequency word lists in the home learning files.

General information-

The children knowing their times tables, is an important aspect of maths in Year 4. TT Rockstars is always available for the children to brush up on their skills. The studio section is a good way to practise for the Y4 times table check that will take place in June. Regular use of Doodle Learning, also helps!

If there are any concerns then please let us know using the [email protected] email address.

Many thanks,

Mrs Cocks and Miss Murdock

to learn, to succeed, to value one another

Our vision and values are at the core of everything we do. A value is a belief or principle that guides our thinking and behaviour. Our values underpin our teaching and learning, and provide an environment which prepares our pupils to be happy and confident and to to take an active role in their community and the wider world.

Each year group has adopted one of our Christian values: Kindness, Forgiveness, Courage, Thankfulness, Hope, Faithfulness and Respect. Our over-arching Christian Value is Love. Throughout the year children are helped to explore, have opportunities to practise and then given time to reflect on what each of our Christian values means to them.
